Movie musical “Nine” features Nicole Kidman, Fergie, and Daniel Day Lewis.

No, it’s not Fergie, but her suprise co-star Kate Hudson. Yep, Hudson can sing. And fellow “Nine” actors Daniel Day Lewis, Nicole Kidman, Penelope Cruz and Marion Cotillard don’t do such a bad job either.

It’s always a surprise for audiences when actors known more for their acting than their singing break out into song on the big screen. And some surprises are more pleasant than others. Last year Meryl Streep got cheers for her performance in “Mama Mia!” Her co-star Pierce Brosnan got jeers.

In 2002′s big-screen version of the musical “Chicago,” Catherine Zeta Jones won an Oscar for her singing role as Velma Kelly, but Richard Gere was widely panned for his singing as Billy Flynn.

// October 13th, 2009 // 1 Comment » // What's Poppin

It’s almost time for all my friends in NY to gather together and support our buddy Franc. Reyes, new feature “The Ministers”, which will have it’s red carpet premiere tonight. Are we excited? fuck yeah!!

epk minister 2009 010

Awhile back I wrote an article expressing my concern about MAYA and their distribution execution. Here’s my issue it’s already Tuesday and “The Ministers” releases friday afternoon. Has anyone seen one freaking commercial for it yet? and I don’t mean here on the internet. I’m talking about Television spots, I mean I see Jamie Foxx and Gerard Butler are all over I know “Law abiding Citizen” is coming out friday but what the fuck is the deal?

What is going on with the marketing for “The Ministers”?

I know we have a strong presence on the internet but even that is questionable in terms of filling up theaters. The reality is a bunch of us always say we’re gonna support but really don’t follow through. When it comes to the internet that is.

I don’t want to be the wet blanket here, but shit when is a Latino project really gonna get a fair shake in this game. Let’s see what happens in the next few days.

For now my friends here is the BEHIND THE SCENES: of “The Ministers,
