THE TOWN, in theaters September 17th. Ben Affleck directs and stars in the film along with Jon Hamm (Mad Men), Jeremy Renner (Hurt Locker), and Blake Lively (Gossip Girl). The crime drama is about Doug MacRay, the leader of a group of bank robbers in Boston. One heist changes his outlook on the business and suddenly he finds himself questioning who he is and what he does.

My boy Kellvin Chavez over at LatinoReview.com saw it already and is giving it mad props. We’re excited too!! So we here at LatinoFilmChatter.com are going to pick 10 winners to go to a screening of ‘The Town’ on September 14th, here in MIAMI. More details to come in the following days.

For now check out the trailer at the bottom of the page to see what all the hype is about!!

THE TOWN – In theatres on September 17

Crime/Drama ~ Doug MacRay (Ben Affleck) is an unrepentant criminal, the de facto leader of a group of ruthless bank robbers who pride themselves in stealing what they want and getting out clean. With no real attachments, Doug never has to fear losing anyone close to him. But that all changed on the gang’s latest job, when they briefly took a hostage–bank manager, Claire Keesey (Rebecca Hall). Though they let her go unharmed, Claire is nervously aware that the robbers know her name…and where she lives. But she lets her guard down when she meets an unassuming and rather charming man named Doug…not realizing that he is the same man who only days earlier had terrorized her. The instant attraction between them gradually turns into a passionate romance that threatens to take them both down a dangerous, and potentially deadly, path.

Starring: Ben Affleck, Rebecca Hall, Jon Hamm, Jeremy Renner, Blake Lively, Pete Postlethwaite.

Director: Ben Affleck

Robert Rodriguez brings a new breed of anti-hero to the big screen in this hyper-violent adaptation of the “fake” trailer originally featured in the 2007 double-feature exploitation throwback Grindhouse. Machete (Danny Trejo) is a former Mexican Federale who plays by his own rules, and doesn’t answer to anybody. In the wake of a harrowing encounter with feared drug lord Torrez (Steven Seagal), Machete finds himself in Texas, where the shadowy Benz (Jeff Fahey) offers him the opportunity to make some quick cash by assassinating the unscrupulous Senator McLaughlin (Robert DeNiro). When the job goes awry and Machete realizes he’s been set up, he turns to fierce taco queen Luz (Michelle Rodriguez), heavily-armed holy man Padre (Cheech Marin), and trigger-happy socialite April (Lindsay Lohan) to show Benz that he just messed with the wrong Mexican. But before they can get to Benz, Machete’s gang will have to contend with blade-wielding ICE agent Sartana (Jessica Alba), who never met an adversary she couldn’t flay

Erin’s (Drew Barrymore) wry wit and unfiltered frankness charm newly single Garrett (Justin Long) over beer, bar trivia and breakfast the next morning. Their chemistry sparks a full-fledged summer fling, but neither expects it to last once Erin heads home to San Francisco and Garrett stays behind for his job in New York City. But when six weeks of romping through the city inadvertently become meaningful, neither is sure they want it to end. And while Garrett’s friends, Box (Jason Sudeikis) and Dan (Charlie Day), joke about his pre-flight calorie-cutting and his full-time relationship with his cell phone, they don’t like losing their best drinking buddy to yet another rocky romance. At the same time, Erin’s high-strung, overprotective married sister, Corrine (Christina Applegate), wants to keep Erin from heading down an all-too-familiar road. But despite the opposite coasts, the nay-saying friends and family, and a few unexpected temptations, the couple just might have found something like love, and with the help of a lot of texting, sexting and late-night phone calls, they might actually go the distance.

This Friday August 27th, 2010 Screen Gems releases the action pack drama ‘Takers’ starring Idris Elba, Jay Hernandez, Matt Dillon, Tip ‘TI’ Harris, Chris Brown, Michael Ealy, Hayden Christensen and Zoe Saldaña.

‘Takers,’ directed by John Luessenhop, revolves around a notorious group of criminals (Idris Elba, Paul Walker, T.I., Chris Brown, Hayden Christensen and Michael Ealy) who continue to baffle police by pulling off perfectly executed bank robberies. They are in and out like clockwork, leaving no evidence behind and laying low in between heists. But when they attempt to pull off one last job with more money at stake than ever before, the crew may find their plans interrupted by a hardened detective (Matt Dillon) and his partner (Jay Hernandez) who are hell-bent on solving the case.

I got to kick it with my good friend Jay Hernandez about his involvement in the movie and here is what he had to say.

LFC: How did you initially get involved with the project ‘Takers’?

JH: CAA sent me the script I read it liked it, sat down with the director talked about it. I found out during our conversation of his vision that the cast was pretty much put together and that was pretty much it, there you go.

LFC: Tell us a something about your character Detective Eddie Hatcher.

JH: Detective Eddie Hatcher is the long time partner of Matt Dillon’s character. His son is sick and he can’t really afford to pay for his medication so he compromises himself. That’s as much as you’re gonna get. You have to check out the movie to see how that unfolds.

LFC: Bro, that sequence when you and Chris Brown are running all over the place is sick! How long did that take to shoot?

JH: I don’t even remember how many days it took, but I want to say about 4 days. All of it was shot downtown in Pershing Square and I want to let you know right now the majority of the stunts were done by Chris himself.

LFC: What are you digging your teeth into next?

JH: I’m currently shooting a feature titled LOL it’s a coming of age story with Demi Moore and Miley Cyrus. I play the love interest of Demi Moore’s character. It’s a remake of a french film with the same title directed and written by Lisa Azuelos who directed the French one as well.

LFC: What are you reading nowadays?

JH: I’m reading L.A. Noir by John Buntin about Los Angeles during it’s dark period where everyone from politicians to police officers were on the take. It reminds me of the movie L.A. Confidential you should check it out.

LFC: No thanks Jay I’ll wait til they make it a movie. I don’t really like to read too much.

For more on the movie check out the link below:
