Alice in Wonderland to get royal London Premiere!!

// February 2nd, 2010 // What's Poppin

The world premiere of Walt Disney’s Tim Burton-directed “Alice in Wonderland” is to get the Royal treatment in the British capital on Feb. 25.

Burton will unveil his vision of the classic children’s tale here in aid of The Prince’s Foundation for Children & the Arts with their Royal Highnesses The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall strolling up the red carpet. Great we’ll see a bunch of people with really bad teeth, awesome.

The cast, including Johnny Depp as the Mad Hatter, Anne Hathaway as the White Queen, Helena Bonham Carter as the Red Queen, Australian rising star Mia Wasikowska as Alice, and U.K. comedian Matt Lucas as Tweedledum and Tweedlede are all expected to be on hand for the event.

The premiere is being held in aid of The Prince’s Foundation for Children & the Arts, which aims to remove barriers so that all U.K. children have the opportunity to discover the arts as a valuable and enjoyable part of life.

Burton’s movie is inspired by Lewis Carroll’s beloved “Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland” and “Through the Looking-Glass” and is brought to the big screen in Disney Digital 3D. No shit!! in 3D wow we didn’t see that one coming, ok we did I’m just busting balls.

  1. I cant wait for this films release on the 5th March 2010. The premiere was announced a while ago on Mark Boardman’s website for the 25th Feb 2010 at the Odeon.

    Lots are stars are due to attend though Disney are still in talks for it’s release in march as they only want ‘The Odeon’ to show it for 8 weeks, Where as the Odeon want a 13 week license.

    The site I found with all the details is http://www.ukfilmpremieres.co.uk

    There are links to the Leicester square cinemas, and red carpet pics etc. If I hear any news regarding London film premieres I will post it here,
